Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program

OSHA requires that all temporary 120 volt, 15 and 20 amp electrical power tools and equipment on every construction site must be protected by Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) or inspected in accordance with the Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program (AEGC). Testing under the AEGC Program shall be performed before first use on new equipment, before equipment is used after an incident suspected of causing damage, and at intervals not exceeding three months. Test verification can be by means of color coded marking tape on the equipment. If color coding is used, the following coding scheme is recommended:
